RED SUMMER FRUITS AND BENEFITS

ΠΡΩΙΝΑ ΓΕΥΜΑΤΑ ΓΙΑ ΕΝΕΡΓΕΙΑ ΣΤΟ MAXIMUM

Summer is just around the corner and your mood is soaring. All your senses become more intense with the taste taking off your pleasure. In summer, the most delicious and juicy fruits appear in Greece. I will tell you my three favorite red summer fruits and I am sure I will convince you to consume them because in addition to good taste, they also have many benefits for your health.

STRAWBERRIES

Strawberries are an amazing snack to take with you everywhere in the summer, as they do not need special preparation. Although orange is famous for its vitamin C, the personal trainer should inform you that the strawberry has more of it! It is a fruit with low caloric value, since a portion consisting of six to eight strawberries has 50 calories. Strawberries contain fiber, flavonoids, potassium, folic acid and antioxidants, thus protecting you from chronic diseases and protecting your heart by consuming them. They prevent memory loss and large increases in insulin and reduce blood pressure, cholesterol and inflammation. And the most important? They are so delicious!

CHERRIES

The personal trainer loves cherries very much! A cup of about 20 cherries has less than 100 calories so you do not have to worry about your silhouette and they also cover 15% of your daily needs for vitamin C. They are antioxidants, prevent chronic diseases such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease and have anti-aging properties. They have a low glycemic index which means that they protect you from a sudden rise in blood sugar. What you also didn’t know is that eating cherries reduces muscle soreness from strenuous exercise and even professional athletes enrich their diet with cherries for faster recovery. And do not tell me that they do not have a divine taste!

WATERMELON

Even though those around you inform you that watermelon is a fattening fruit, your personal trainer will refute them and tell you that 150 grams of watermelon will give you only 40 calories! The same amount will cover 21% of your daily needs for vitamin C and 17% for vitamin A. It is a perfect food for dehydration because 92% of watermelon contains water which means that you will have beautiful hair and glowing skin. It improves the function of the arteries, thus protecting you from heart disease. You have combined watermelon with the summer months because it is also served as a dessert at Greek tables, but it will help you cope with the high temperatures of the season as well as the replenishment of electrolytes. And the best of it? It is the sweetest ally for not resorting to unhealthy sweets.
